Brandon Garrett is the founder of Refuge Roofing and the heart behind its mission: helping homeowners across the Upstate find peace of mind through dependable, high-quality roofing and restoration services. With over three years of hands-on experience in the roofing industry —and more than a decade of leadership in operations and logistics—Brandon brings both craftsmanship and efficiency to every project.

Before starting Refuge Roofing, Brandon held leadership roles at Phillips Pet Food & Supplies, SENATOR International, and FedEx Freight. His background taught him the value of clear communication, reliable service, and running a business with integrity—all of which now define the Refuge Roofing experience.

Beyond the job site, Brandon is a devoted father to three children and a true family man. When he’s not leading the team, you’ll likely find him on the lake, fishing and spending quality time with the people who matter most. That same care and dedication he brings to his family shows up in how he leads his team and serves every homeowner.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Tara brings years of experience in operations and team leadership to her role as COO of Refuge Roofing. With a background in healthcare, education, and business management, she’s skilled at keeping projects organized, teams on track, and customers supported every step of the way.

As a proud mom of three—both biological and stepchildren—Tara knows the value of creating a safe, welcoming home, and she brings that same heart and dedication to every project Refuge Roofing takes on. She’s passionate about building trust with clients and fostering a company culture rooted in honesty, care, and respect.

From the first call to the final walkthrough, Tara helps make the roofing and restoration process smooth, transparent, and stress-free—so families can feel confident and covered, for years to come.

GENERAL MANAGER

David Vaughn serves as the General Manager at Refuge Roofing, bringing over a decade of hands-on experience and leadership in the roofing industry. A dedicated professional with a deep understanding of both residential and commercial roofing systems, David is committed to delivering high-quality workmanship, exceptional customer service, and building lasting relationships with clients and team members alike.

Before entering the roofing industry, David proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he developed the discipline, integrity, and leadership skills that continue to guide his career today. His military background instilled a strong work ethic and a mission-focused approach—qualities he brings to every project at Refuge Roofing.

Outside of work, David is a devoted husband and the proud father of four children. Family and service are at the heart of everything he does, both on and off the job site. His commitment to excellence, both personally and professionally, makes him a trusted leader and valuable asset to the Refuge Roofing team.

ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION SPECIALIST

With three years of experience in the roofing industry, Emilio is committed to delivering exceptional service and ensuring every homeowner feels confident throughout the process. His approach is built on clear communication, attention to detail, and providing a true red-carpet experience for each client from the first inspection to the final walkthrough.

Prior to entering the roofing industry, he proudly served four years in the United States Army, where he developed the discipline, integrity, and strong work ethic that continue to guide him today. He takes pride not only in protecting homes but also in building lasting relationships with the families he serves.

Outside of serving homeowners, he is a dedicated father to his son and values making the most of his time. Born and raised in Texas, he enjoys staying active outdoors — whether that’s hiking, fishing, working on cars, or spending time in the gym. He’s also a passionate sports fan and proudly cheers on his team — Go Birds!

ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION SPECIALIST

Ian McKinney brings a unique blend of healthcare experience, customer service, and community-focused values to the Refuge Roofing team. Before entering the roofing industry, Ian spent eight years in the medical field as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and Rehab Liaison, helping individuals improve their quality of life and navigate important healthcare decisions.

Driven by a desire to better serve his local community and spend more time with his family, Ian transitioned into roofing, where he continues to help people by providing honest guidance and dependable service. With his father having over 17 years of experience in the roofing industry, Ian developed a strong understanding of the roofing process and the importance of quality workmanship from an early age.

At Refuge Roofing, Ian is committed to making the roofing experience as straightforward and stress-free as possible for homeowners. His background in patient care has equipped him with the communication skills, attention to detail, and compassion needed to build trust and deliver exceptional customer service.

Outside of work, Ian enjoys competing in Spartan Races and embracing the challenges that come with pushing himself both physically and mentally.

Adam Coyle is passionate about serving his community and helping homeowners protect one of their most valuable investments—their home. He believes that trust, integrity and clear communication are the foundation of every successful customer relationship. Adam is committed to providing each homeowner with an exceptional experience by guiding them through every step of the process, ensuring they feel informed, confident, and supported from the initial inspection through project completion. His dedication to professionalism, transparency, and customer service allows him to deliver lasting peace of mind while building strong relationships with the homeowners he serves.

While new to the roofing industry, Adam brings nearly a decade of law enforcement experience serving his community. Throughout his career in public service, he developed a strong sense of responsibility, integrity and dedication to helping others during some of life’s most challenging circumstances. His experience in law enforcement strengthens his ability to communicate effectively, remain calm under pressure, solve complex problems and advocate for those in need. These qualities have transitioned seamlessly into the roofing and construction industry, where homeowners often need a trusted professional to guide them through unfamiliar situations. Adam approaches every interaction with honesty, attention to detail and a genuine desire to protect both the homeowner and the home itself.

Outside of work, Adam is a devoted husband and proud father. His faith in Jesus and his family serves as the foundation of his life and continually reinforces the values of trust, commitment, and service to others. He enjoys spending time outdoors and creating lasting memories with family and friends. These personal values influence the way he approaches both his professional and personal relationships, allowing him to connect with homeowners on a genuine level. Adam’s commitment to people, combined with his passion for service, enables him to bring a personal touch, authentic care and unwavering dedication to every project he has the privilege of being a part of.
